Hey! I’m Donovan and welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I’m a fee-only CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Certified Kingdom Advisor®, and a financial advisor at Greater Than Financial.
I launched this site as a way to be more intentional about creating faith-driven content and distributing it to my fellow believers.
As a financial planner, I love helping individuals use their resources to live an abundant life and I get even more excited helping Christians steward well.
I know life is crazy, volatile, complex, and (insert your preferred adjective). I hope my content, knowledge, and wisdom can help you on your stewardship journey even if it’s just a little bit.

My History
In 2011, I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University (GO BEARCATS!) with a dual degree in financial services and financial management. In college I also met my better half (Amy) and rediscovered the God of the universe!
After college, I worked several years at a small, local firm that provided mostly investment management services to pre-retirees and retirees. I was doing operational work such as ensuring that specific recommendations were carried out.
I finally came to the conclusion that I wanted something more than selling commission-based products and serving boomers that had built their wealth already. I wanted to work with my generation that were navigating numerous pivotal life events and needed real financial planning.
I started my own financial planning firm in early 2016 and have been serving clients ever since. In 2026, I joined the Greater Than Financial team, continuing that work alongside colleagues who share my commitment to helping clients make thoughtful financial decisions.
My Beliefs
God owns it all and we’re simply stewards.
Money is a tool that can be used to: live, give, pay debt and taxes, or save/grow.
Education is crucial.
Collaboration is key for progress in a partnership.
We need a lot less than we think.
Your wealth is not your worth.
Spending on experiences and relationships is greater than spending on things.
The best is yet to come.

My Personal Life
Outside of practicing financial planning you can find me with my family: Amy (wife), EveLynn (daughter), Noah (son), Simon (son), and Charlie (son). Everyday is a chaotic adventure that I love!
When I have time (an important factor), I also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, strength & endurance training, board games, listening to podcasts, and reading.
